The webinar, jointly organized by the International Dispute Resolution and Risk Management Association (IDRRMI), AllBright Law Offices, Lucu Culture (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKCPA) and ShineWing Hong Kong, was successfully held on November 20, 2021. The seminar discussed China’s first personal bankruptcy settlement case and its significance.
The Webinar was moderated by Ms. Guo Xuanling, the senior partner of AllBright Law Offices and the International Accredited Professional Mediator of the International Dispute Resolution and Risk Management Institute.
The first speaker was Mr. Zong Shicai, the senior partner of AllBright Law Offices and Vice-President of Shenzhen Bankruptcy Administrators Association. He introduced the Personal Bankruptcy Regulations of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and shared the difficulties and solutions he faced while handling the first personal bankruptcy mediation case.
Dr. Alfred Chan, the Vice-President of the International Dispute Resolution and Risk Management Institute and Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Mediation Centre, mentioned the needs and challenges of mediation in the Belt and Road and Greater Bay area.
Prof. Qi Lijie, Associate Professor of Civil and Commercial Law and Master degree’s Instructor of Law School of Shenzhen University, joined the speakers at the panel discussion. He talked about the advantages of mediation in personal bankruptcy cases.
