International Professional Arbitrator Qualification Assessment

I. Introduction

The professional arbitrator qualification of IDRRMI represents a high standard of professionalism and excellence in arbitration for dispute management and resolution with all IDRRMI professional arbitrators are in possession of passion and integrity.

To become a professional arbitrator of IDRRMI, the candidate must demonstrate to have the experiences commensurate with the knowledge and skills required for a professional arbitrator.

Candidates who either have completed the professional arbitrator training course organized by an IDRRMI Recognised Training Course Provider (RTCP) or possess a professional arbitrator qualification from another institution without passing any professional qualification assessment, are eligible to apply for the Stage I* & Stage II** of the IDRRMI International Professional Arbitrator Qualification Assessment.  Applicants who have achieved a satisfactory result in both Stage I & Stage II of the IDRRMI International Professional Arbitrator Qualification Assessment are eligible to apply to be enlisted on the panel of Certified International Arbitrator (CIAB).

  • *   Stage I Assessment is a 2-hrs writing examination.
  • ** Stage II Assessment is an arbitration award writing assessment.

Arbitrators of professional organizations may apply to IDRRMI International Professional Arbitrator Qualification Assessment

II. Eligibility

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications for attending the assessment

  1. Completed the professional arbitrator training course organized by an IDRRMI Recognised Training Course Provider (RTCP) or
  2. Possess a professional arbitrator qualification issued by an IDRRMI recognized arbitration organization.

Assessment date

The Secretariat will arrange an assessment date with the applicant after the applicant has submitted all the required documents and proofs (the assessment date will be scheduled a minimum of three weeks after the submission completion).

 

Assessment venue

The Secretariat will arrange a suitable assessment venue in accordance with the applicant's location

  • Hong Kong – at the Institute office
  • Mainland China – at our local branch or online
  • The United Kingdom – at our local branch or online
  • Other overseas locations - online
